  1. What is the treaty of Waitangi? It is a treaty that was signed by the representative of the British Crown on 6 February 1840 and the Maori chiefs.  
  1. Who signed the treaty of Waitangi? When and where? The Maori chiefs and the british crown, it was signed up north in Waitangi, and signed in 1840
  1. What were the promises of the treaty for the Maori people? That the British people will protect the Moari chiefs. The crown said they would share land. A.K.A forests, fisheries and other possessions.
  2. What happened after the treaty was signed? More british people were slowly taking over the land. William Hobson the Lieutenant Governor took over NZ and British soon ruled NZ.  
  3. What are the key principles of the Treaty of Waitangi? Protection,Participation,Partnership
