SLJ- Building A Xylophone

Today for my second activity I learnt how to build my very own xylophone. The xylophone is a musical instrument in the percussion family that consists of wooden bars struck by mallets. Like the glockenspiel, the xylophone essentially consists of a set of tuned keys arranged in the fashion of the keyboard of a piano.

  1. Kia ora anō Fai’ana,

Amazing work again, you have been busy! I love the unique look you give all your activities, that make it clear it is your work.

Great that you noticed how the length affected the overall combined sound, very attentive! Maybe you can try making each pipe more different in size to give you the different sounds, because the sizes you have in your picture look quite close in length!

You can even refer to the picture of the xylophone you have in the top right of your slide, it goes from big to really small, and the sizes in between are different to one another.

Excited to see how this looks, and how you notice it making a difference for you!

Till next time! Have a lovely day, great work!

    Benjamin.
